Experienced ASL Interpreters and CART Services
We have been serving the deaf & hard of hearing community for over 20 years. Our ASL interpreters are passionate, experienced, and excellent communicators.
We work with certified interpreters who specialize in the areas of expertise you need.
Not every member of the deaf community knows ASL. We also offer real-time captions through Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART).We work with certified interpreters who specialize in the areas of expertise you need.
On-Site or Remote
Our interpreters can come to your location or work off-site through Video Remote Interpreting (VRI). Get in touch to discuss which option is best for your needs.
The Right Interpreter for Your Needs
Each ASL interpreter will have areas they’re more comfortable in. Interpreters who specialize in legal & medical interpreting may not be the ideal choice for concert interpreting. We work with a network of interpreters & will find the best match for your needs.
Committed to the Deaf Community
Our ASL team have a strong cultural connection to the deaf community. We understand the importance of Sign Language as not just a means of communication but as a cultural heritage. We value clear communication & celebrate deafness as a different way to experience life in a visual world.
Live Captioning CART Service
In Live Captioning, a stenographer listens & converts speech to text using a special phonetic keyboard. (We are happy to offer automated captioning, but please be aware that accuracy can be significantly worse than a live operator.)
Live captions may be preferable to ASL interpreting depending on your audience, venue, or other variables. Please reach out to us to discuss if ASL, CART, or both are best for your needs. But a major determining factor is your audience.
Pre-lingually deaf people (born or went deaf before learning to speak) generally prefer ASL because it is their first language. While most deaf people can read English captions, it’s essentially a second language for them. ASL is its own language with its own grammatical structure.
Post-lingually deaf people (went deaf after learning to speak) generally prefer captions because ASL is a second or third language. Those who lost their hearing older or recently may have not yet learned ASL.
